When the sun is shining and the mercury rises, there is nothing better than being able to walk from your front door down to the beach.A new study by Rightmove has analysed the prices of more than 200 coastal areas across the UK to find the cheapest and most expensive.
According to the experts, Saltcoats in Ayrshire is the most affordable seaside destination in the whole of Great Britain.Properties in the North Ayrshire town were found to cost £114,365 on average.
This is almost 14 times cheaper than the most expensive coastal area in the nation, Sandbanks in Poole, where properties have an average price tag of nearly £1.6 million.
