The top 50 "coolest places to live" in the UK have been revealed, including a number of popular Scottish destinations.Four neighbourhoods in Scotland are featured in the public poll, which was conducted by CBD company Naturecan.
Leith in Edinburgh is the highest ranking of these areas, coming in at number seven.A buzzing port district in the north of Edinburgh, Leith is one of the capital's most historic and iconic areas.
With the original harbour dating back to the 14th century, it has served as the port of the city for hundreds of years, and has seen visits from many travelling Kings and Queens such as Mary, Queen of Scots and King George IV.Today, Leith has a distinct character that feels different to any other part of the city.
It is home to both longtime locals and newer creative types, and is a unique hub of food and drink spots, as well as cultural activity.The second Scottish location to appear on the list is the West End of Glasgow, which ranks at number 12.
