The Met Office has warned parts of Scotland will be hit with heavy rain and thundery weather as conditions take a turn following weeks of sun.The country has spent several days basking in a heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 25C.
However, the hot weather was brought to an abrupt end by thunderstorms over the weekend.Forecasters say this week will start overcast with wet weather following heavy downpours for much of the country overnight.
It comes as a yellow Met Office weather warning for heavy rain remains in place until midday, with forecasters expecting some localised flooding due to thundery downpours.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has also issued a flood alert as periodic, heavy rain continues following weeks of dry weather.
