A Scot who booted in the glass door of a Greggs bakery at 1.45am later told cops he’d been desperate for a sausage roll. Matthew Devlin smashed the door of the closed outlet on Edinburgh’s South Clerk Street.
Two hours later Devlin, 31, went to nearby St Leonards police station and admitted he was responsible for the damage.Telling cops it was his urgent need for one of Greggs’ pastries which prompted his actions, the painter and decorator was arrested.
Devlin appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Monday after previously admitting a charge of wilfully damaging the bakery’s door on August 18.
