School in Wigan warns parents that a woman knocking on doors to ask for donations is 'not acting' on their behalf

St Jude's Catholic Primary School in Wigan has sent a message to parents warning them that a woman knocking on doors and asking for money is not acting as a representative of the school.

According to the school, the woman has been going around the Newtown and Little Lane area of Wigan claiming to be a representative of the school and showing a letter with the school's letterhead.

They say she claims the school has been denied funding and has no resources. The school is urging people not to give her money and anyone who has been contacted by the woman to call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
