School hail pupil, 5, with 'infectious smile' after Glasgow bus crash tragedy

A school has paid tribute to a "quirky personality" after their five-year-old pupil died being hit by a bus in Glasgow.Ayan Khan Nooreen sustained grievous injuries following the incident on Calder Street in the south of the city on Tuesday, April 4, at around 5.40pm.

Paramedics treated him at the scene but he was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.A nine-year-old girl also involved in the collision was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment after sustaining what medics describe as "serious injuries".In the days since the devastating collision tributes were left to Ayan at Holy Cross Primary School on Calder Street in Govanhill, close to the scene of the incident.The school’s headteacher, Claire Gray, has now paid tribute to the young lad who she says had an "infectious smile" and "loved to chat".

She said: “We are in shock from the news and trying to support our school community in whichever way we need to. “Ayan had a quirky wee personality with an infectious smile who loved to chat and always had something to say or let you know about. “These are tragic and deeply upsetting circumstances and our condolences are with Ayan’s family and friends at this sad time.”Flowers and teddy bears have been tied to fences and lampposts by school staff and family friends.The school has also tweeted an image of flowers at the gates from staff and pupils with a note which read “Praying for Ayan”.Sergeant Nick Twigg said: “Our thoughts are with Ayan’s family and everyone affected by this tragic incident."Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances remain ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information but hasn’t yet spoken to us to come forward.“In addition, if you have dash-cam that could help
