Scarlett Moffatt has claimed that people ‘assume she’s thick’ because of her Northern accent.The Gogglebox star, who hails from County Durham, believes she’s being stereotyped.The 29-year-old told The Mirror: ‘I just can’t win.
Maybe it’s the way I’ve portrayed myself, but people always assume I’m thick. I don’t know if it’s my accent or whatever.’ She explained that even producers on TV shows repeat what they say as they think she won’t understand.One producer explained things three times, with Scarlett saying: ‘And [I go], “OK, that’s fine, I understand”.
And then explaining it again and then me going, “No, really, I understand!”‘You can’t win, so you’ve just got to be yourself and not take anything personally.
