Sarah Harding has revealed how she shed tears after being chosen for Girls Aloud over fears her new bandmates wanted someone else.
Sarah was one of the contenders on ITV's Popstars: The Rivals back in 2002, the concept of which was to form two groups to battle it out for the Christmas number one spot.
In front of millions of viewers, Sarah was named as Girls Aloud's fifth member alongside Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle.
It had come down to her and Javine Hylton, both vying for the fifth and final opening in the newly formed Girls Aloud. All the contestants had to live in a house together, and Sarah recalled in her new autobiography Hear Me Out that she "wasn't everyone's favourite housemate", saying that
