A nutritionist claims that regularly eating certain healthy foods can help produce slimming results similar to those seen with weight loss injections. The last year has seen the use of such jags, which contain a hunger blocking compound called semaglutide, soar in popularity.

Distributed through brands like Wegovy and Ozempic, such medications can treat type 2 diabetes, but are also considered a quick weight loss fix, with semaglutide mimicking fullness that is usually caused by the GLP-1 hormone. But nutritionist Dr Emma Beckett says that eating avocados, nuts, eggs and other foods with "good fats" actually help to naturally produce GLP-1 in the body, making them just as effective as semaglutide injections for losing weight, but without nasty side effects. While effective at helping those with obesity issues, this kind of treatment comes with some unpleasant symptoms.

According to Wegovy and Ozempic's respective websites, regularly taking either injection may cause nausea, stomach pain, constipation and vomiting - with Wegovy users further risking headaches, tiredness and dizziness.Speaking to Diabetes.co.uk las year, Dr Beckett explained: "The nutrients that trigger GLP-1 secretion are macronutrients.

There is evidence that by choosing foods high in these nutrients, GLP-1 levels can be increased."This means a healthy diet, high in GLP-1 stimulating nutrients can increase GLP-1 levels.
