Samantha Fox, the former glamour model turned pop star, is appearing in court for sentencing today after being charged with a public order offence and being drunk on an airplane. The iconic 80s chart-topper, now 58, known for hits like Touch Me (I Want Your Body) and Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now, was on a flight to Germany when the incident occurred in December last year.
She was arrested at Heathrow Airport and later pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and using threatening behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress to a police constable on a British Airways flight. The incident led to passengers having to abandon the flight as take-off was delayed, meaning the flight wouldn't be able to land in time due to strict air travel laws in Germany.
On Sunday evening (September 1), she was cleared of assaulting her wife on a BA flight after prosecutors dropped the charge.
According to the PA news agency, the charge was discontinued "after changes to the evidence meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction." Today, she arrived at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court dressed head-to-toe in white, walking alongside a woman as she entered the court.
