Salford Red Devils forward Gil Dudson to join Catalans Dragons for 2021, Ian Watson confirms

Powerhouse forward Gil Dudson will leave Salford at the end of the 2020 Betfred Super League season, coach Ian Watson has confirmed.

The 29-year-old prop was voted Players' Player of the Year at the club's awards evening last season and was an integral part of the Red Devils side that advanced to a maiden Grand Final at Old Trafford, but will join Catalans Dragons for 2021 and beyond after rejected a new year two-year deal at the AJ Bell Stadium. 
"Gil has made the decision that he thinks is best for him and his family," said Watson. "But what I don't want is for people to get an opinion that Gil has just decided to up sticks here." Dudson is close to Catalans hooker Michael McIlorum - their wives are sisters - and after a holiday together
