Sainsbury's will increase the hourly wage of 120,000 staff members as part of a £200 million investment. The supermarket chain said hourly-paid employees will see their pay go up from £11 per hour to £12 per hour in March.
Meanwhile, staff situated in London, where the cost of living tends to be higher than other parts of the country, will see their pay go up from £11.95 per hour to £13.15 per hour.
It comes following the announcement that the National Living Wage for the whole country will rise from £10.42 to £11.44 in April of this year.
This increase will also be applied to 21 and 22-year-olds for the first time ever. Try MEN Premium now with our amazing New Year offer...
