London mayor Sadiq Khan hit out at Boris Johnson as he reminded Good Morning Britain viewers that the Christmas rules are not "mandatory." People across the UK will be allowed to gather in a one-off Christmas bubble of up to three households from December 23-27.

And as the MP appeared on Tuesday's instalment of the ITV show he urged people to "err on the side of caution" over the festive period and pleaded with them not to "hug and kiss" grandparents.
