Rylan says 'I won't forget it' after snub as he hits out at 'rude' BBC colleagues

Rylan Clark marked his first Radio 2 show in fortnight with a playful swipe at “rude” BBC colleagues who hadn’t done anything to mark his 36th birthday.

The London-born presenter had been in India with close pal Rob Rinder for a second series of their travelogue show after the runaway success of the Grand Tour earlier this year.

That show saw Rob and Rylan taking in some of Italy's greatest art treasures in destinations such as Venice, Florence and Rome as they followed in the footsteps of aristocratic tourists such as 19th-century romantic poet Lord Byron.

Now the duo have ripped into the rich culture of India, and BBC bosses will be hoping they can command similar audiences. He confided: “We got to spend Diwali in Jaipur with someone very special – I can’t say who...” But while he was away from the show, Rylan turned 36.
