Rylan Clark has denied he is the man wanted by Kent Police - after an e-fit was released that bore an uncanny resemblance to him.The Radio 2 star, 35, shared a post that included a computer-generated image of a man they would like to identify in connection with a robbery, but looked startlingly familiar to Rylan's fans.
In the e-fit, the man was shown with dark hair and a well-manicured beard and moustache that looked very similar to Rylan, with police captioning it: "Officers investigating a report of attempted robbery in #Maidstone have released a computer generated image of a man they would like to identify." Rylan saw the funny side of the similarity as he reposted it, writing: "Wasn't me".
But in the comments, one fan asked: "Are you sure?" as another added: "Looks like a mix between you and Simon Cowell". Someone else agreed: "It's Simon cowell in a rylan false beard." "Want to believe you, I really do, but without seeing the teeth how can we REALLY be sure?" commented one person.
Someone else wrote: "They’ve captured your hairstyle quite well (if you squint your eyes tight)." Those commenting on Kent Police's post also mocked the image as resembling a retro computer game as one person asked: "Have you tried looking for him on Football Manager?" Someone else joked: "I saw him guarding a base in Goldeneye on the Nintendo circa 1997 if that helps." Meanwhile, Rylan called in to This Morning to confirm that he definitely is not on the run - and is in fact in Sweden for the Eurovision Song Contest.
