Rylan Clark replaced on BBC Radio 2 show as he reveals unexpected new career move

Rylan Clark is set to be replaced on his BBC Radio 2 show by Paddy McGuinness, who has vowed to provide listeners with an "endless supply of dad jokes".The former It Takes Two host, 35, will be taking four weeks away from the show in February with the ex Top Gear host stepping in to fill his role.The news comes as Rylan announced that he will be headlining at Henley Festival in July alongside the likes of Gladys Knight, Sam Ryder and Nicole Scherzinger.Paddy's show will feature the regular Couch Potatoes quiz which sees listeners compete against one another with their film and TV knowledge, the Mirror reports.As well as the music and a string of guests, the show will also feature the Winning At Life segment where listeners are invited to share things that have gone well for them recently.Paddy said: “I’m really excited to be taking over the reins of Rylan’s show and keeping his seat warm for four weeks.

I can’t wait to bring the fun, and an endless supply of dad jokes, to Radio 2 every Saturday.”The host comedian previously stepped in to host a quiz on Vernon Kay's mid-morning show for a number of episodes in November while the All Star Family Fortunes host was running an ultra marathon for Children In Need.Paddy has helmed many shows over the years including the iconic dating game Take Me Out and music game show I Can See Your Voice.

He also presented Top Gear for the last few years until the show was recently rested and took over from Sue Barker as host of A Question Of Sport in 2021 up until it was axed last year.Paddy shares three kids with his former wife Christine McGuinness who he split from in the summer of 2022.Their daughter Felicity, and twins Leo and Penelope all have autism.
