Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder have shared a deeply emotional moment on their new BBC Two series, where they explore Italy while reflecting on their personal lives.The duo, who've both experienced the heartache of marriage break-ups, found solace in their journey, reminiscent of the Grand Tourists of yesteryear.The show, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, premiered on Sunday (May 12), revealing the pair's candid discussions amidst the stunning Italian backdrop.
Over drinks, they delved into the impact their respective divorces had on them. Rylan confided in Rob about the intense period following his split, saying: "I think it was a culmination of my marriage breaking down and actually me stopping for the first time in 10 years.Then, all of a sudden, I hit quite a big speed bump instead of carrying on, I just sunk." The TV personality, known for his stint on 'X-Factor, described his ordeal further: "It was the worst experience of my life.
I just went on a downward spiral. I tried to end it, I tried to finish myself off. I didn't eat, I went down to 9st. I'm 6ft 4 Rob, like I look horrendous." As Rylan opened up, Rob listened intently, removing his sunglasses in a gesture of empathy.
Rylan then expressed gratitude for his life but admitted he would sacrifice his career to spare his mother the distress of seeing him unwell: "I'm so grateful for what I've got," before adding, "I would give it all up" to avoid causing her any more worry, reports the Express.
