Ryan Tubridy: ‘If I don’t stand up to verbal abuse, it just keeps going’

‘What happened to you?’ Ryan Tubridy posed the question to those men who verbally abused him when he was out for a walk just outside his home.

The Late Late Show presenter shared that he was walking in Dun Laoghaire with his eldest daughter when he was verbally assaulted in two separate incidents, one man threw a nasty homophobic slur his way while not five minutes later another man ‘roared in his face’.

Ryan explained he was approached by a ‘young guy’ who appeared to be in his mid-twenties. The stranger walked past the presenter, saying, ‘Tubridy, you f****t.’ Speaking to EVOKE at the RTÉ Autumn launch, he admitted: ‘If I don’t stand up to this, it just keeps going.
