Ryan Preece is reportedly okay after a terrifying accident. The 32-year-old race car driver’s vehicle wildly flipped over nearly a dozen times during the Coke Zero Sugar 400 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs race on Saturday night (August 26) in Florida.
With just six laps to go, Ryan‘s car suddenly cut across the track and went airborne before flipping over 10 times and coming to a stop in the infield.
A medical team responded, helping Ryan out of hiscar, which appeared to be on fire. He was placed on a stretcher and rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
It’s not immediately clear what caused the accident in the 16-car race, which was won by Chris Buescher. His rep then posted a message on social media: “Ryan was transported to a local hospital where he is undergoing standard tests, he is awake, alert and obviously shaken.” Luckily, Ryan then posted an update himself. “If you want to be a race car driver, you better be tough.
