Brian Steinberg Senior TV EditorFor at least one evening, worlds are colliding in late-night TV.Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel decided to switch up their hosting duties on April 1, with Kimmel traveling to New York to lead NBC’s “Tonight Show” and Fallon journeying to California to host ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The studio audiences attending each broadcast were not informed of the move ahead of time, leaving them just as surprised as the TV viewers who tuned in Friday night. The Red Hot Chili Peppers served as musical guests for both programs.While such stunts are rare — each late-night program vies with the others for viewership and social-media activity — they are becoming less unique.

Will Smith has formally resigned from The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, sharing the news alongside another apology for his altercation with Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars ceremony.A day after the event (March 28), The Academy revealed it had “officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences”. Earlier this week, the board confirmed it had since escalated its review and had “initiated disciplinary proceedings against Mr Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct”, which may lead to “suspension, expulsion, or other sanctions”.The matter was going to be a focal point at The Academy’s next board meeting (slated for April 18), where Smith was likely to learn of any consequences he’d be handed.

UPDATED: It appears unlikely that at least one of two CBS Media Ventures-distributed syndicated daytime talk shows, The Doctors and Daily MailTV, will continue beyond this season. We hear CBS employees were told today that both shows hailing from Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Prods., are facing a possible end. There is conflicting information but we also hear there have been no official cancellations.

Showbiz funnyman David Koechner has been charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run in Los Angeles after he was arrested back in December 2021. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office relayed to TMZ on Friday that the charges stem from the "Office" alum's arrest on New Year’s Eve with the outlet further reporting that Koechner faces up to six months in jail for each misdemeanor count.  Records from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office revealed at the time that the 59-year-old was arrested on Dec. 31 at 3:03 p.m.

Dictated over the phone to Pat Hackett from 1976 to 1987, the diaries were published in 1989,  two years after Warhol’s death.

Hulu is now the exclusive streaming home of all past and future seasons of Ryan Murphy’s big FX franchises, American Crime Story, American Horror Story and Pose. All three shows left Netflix at the end of February.
