The 24-year-old Ferencvaros striker was linked to Ange Postecoglou's side in the last transfer window along with Union Saint Gilloise and Lens.
Morocco international Mmaee is set to represent the African nation at the World Cup next month against Croatia, Belgium and Canada.
But he is open to leaving the Hungarian club after that, which could tempt Celtic to resurrect their interest in him after Record Sport exclusively revealed he was a target in the summer.
