Ryan Gosling Releases EP With Three New ‘I’m Just Ken’ Versions Including Holiday-Flavored ‘Merry Kristmas Barbie’

If you still can’t get enough of “I’m Just Ken,” Ryan Gosling‘s ear-candy standout from the Barbie soundtrack, the actor (slash singer) and writer-producer Mark Ronson just released an EP with three new mixes of the song including the holiday-style “I’m Just Ken – Merry Kristmas Barbie” Atlantic Records also posted an official video for “Merry Kristmas Barbie” – the “K” spelling is a Ken joke – which shows Gosling performing the song in studio and joshing & working with Ronson and co-writer/co-producer Andrew Wyatt in the studio.

Also included on the digital EP is an unplugged version, “I’m Just Ken – In My Feelings Acoustic,” and a full-on dance rendition “I’m Just Ken – Purple Disco Machine Remix.” The Christmas, or “Kristmas,” version was teased in an Instagram post yesterday showing Ronson repeatedly and playfully turning down the volume on Gosling’s vocals. In the Instagram post, Ronson wrote that he sent Gosling the holiday version just last week “and he dug it & it sounded so f***ing xmas that we were like, ‘man, can we get this out in a week?!’ Since I’m the person who throws on Stevie’s ‘Someday at Christmas’ the day after Thanksgiving, this appealed to me greatly.

So he rerecorded the vocals and here we are, a week later serving up this version that we love with about 5 days til no one wants to hear a xmas record, but sometimes u have to do it for fun (& maybe a little for Barbie).
