Ryan Gosling has spoken about his disappointment after Barbie director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie were snubbed in two major categories at the 2024 Oscars nominations.The actor, 43, who was nominated for his supporting role as Ken in the box office hit, said he was “so happy” for co-star America Ferrera, 39, who received a nod for best supporting actress for her performance as Gloria.
However, Greta, 40, was snubbed of a nod for best director, but was named alongside her husband Noah Baumbach for best adapted screenplay.
Margot, 33, lost out on a best actress nomination for her role as Barbie but was recognised for best picture as a producer. “I am extremely honoured to be nominated by my colleagues alongside such remarkable artists in a year of so many great films,” Ryan said in a statement shared with US outlets.
He added: “And I never thought I’d be saying this, but I’m also incredibly honoured and proud that it’s for portraying a plastic doll named Ken.
