Ryan Giggs feels Sir Alex Ferguson made the right call in selling David Beckham from Man Utd when he did. Ferguson had a knack for offloading star players either just before their peak years were coming to an end, or when it was best suited for the club to let them go.
Several key figures were allowed to depart Old Trafford during Fergie's time in charge, but arguably none as high-profile as Beckham, who left for Real Madrid in 2003.
United received a decent sum of £25million at the time for the then-28-year-old, though waved goodbye to the first of the established Class of '92 graduates.
However after a season where Ferguson and Beckham had had a well-publicised run-in, Giggs insists it was the correct decision for all involved.
