The musical theatre actress, 53, is a late entry on the hit ITV show alongside Russell Watson. But she was hoping for a rather warmer welcome - and not from the campmates, but the wet and windy location itself.
Speaking to the Mirror Online and other news outlets, Ruthie said: "At the time, I had no idea when I said yes it would be in Wales.
As far as we were concerned, when we signed up I was going to a nice hot jungle! "But in actual fact I think it's brilliant that it's in Wales.
