Ruth Langsford gets to see mum in care home for her birthday after Covid kept them apart

Ruth Langsford got to see her mum for her birthday when she visited her in her care home. The Loose Women host was overjoyed to spend an hour holding her mum Joan's hand after they reunited for the second time in a month.

She didn't get to see her mum for months after care home visitors were banned during the start of the coronavirus pandemic. But Ruth, who turned 61-years-old on Wednesday, has finally been able to see her mum now they have both been vaccinated and visitors are permitted again.

Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, a delighted Ruth posted a Boomerang of her and her mum. Though she was wearing a face mask, there was no hiding the huge smile on the telly star's face.
