A rush-hour crash has sparked travel delays on the M8 in Glasgow today. The collision occurred on the busy motorway near Junction 19 at around 7.15am.
Multiple lanes on the westbound carriageway were restricted as a result, and police and recovery teams were called to the scene.
A photo taken at the spot, which was shared on social media by Traffic Scotland, shows vehicles grinding to a near halt, as queues build for those heading out on their early morning commute.Drivers were warned that there would be delays.
Since then, transport bosses have confirmed that the incident has been cleared and traffic is no longer at a standstill, with all lanes running smoothly as of 8am.It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the smash, what caused it or if anyone suffered injuries or required hospital treatment following the event.
