The former royal aide who testified against Meghan Markle of bullying has received a major new honour from King Charles. Jason Knauf has been made a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (RVO) to recognise his services to the Royal Family.

Jason worked for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for seven years and later Prince William and Kate Middleton. He ended his career with the royal household as chief executive of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Royal Foundation before stepping down at the end of 2021.

Honours within the RVO are the King's gift, and are given out independently of Downing Street to those who have served the monarch or members of The Firm in a personal way.

Jason, who was made a Lieutenant of the RVO in the New Year Honours list, was handed the accolade by Prince William in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.
