Rory McIlroy & Wife Erica Stoll Split, Divorcing After 7 Years of Marriage
justjared.comGolf star Rory McIlroy has filed for divorce from his wife of seven years, Erica Stoll. The 35-year-old golfer filed divorce documents with the courts in Florida on Monday (May 13), TMZ reports.
They met in 2012 while she was working at the Ryder Cup and helped him make his tee time. They married in 2017 and had one child together, Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, born in 2020. Rory and Erica began dating in 2014 after he ended his engagement to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
He broke up with her over the phone just a few months after getting engaged and having their wedding invites printed. The timing for Rory‘s divorce filing is interesting as he is competing in the PGA Championship in Kentucky this coming weekend, where he’s considered a favorite to win.
