Rory McIlroy failed to contend at the US PGA Championship – and then admitted: “Maybe I'm just not as good as I used to be”.
The four-time Major champion closed with 68 at Harding Park to finish on two-under par in the first showpiece event since the pandemic.
But despite his best score of the week – helped by an eagle at the par-4 16th when he drove the green – the Ulsterman was back in the clubhouse long before the leaders teed off last night.
