Ronan Keating has expressed his outrage on Instagram, criticising the "broken justice system" following the lenient sentencing of the driver responsible for his brother's death.

The former Boyzone singer's brother, Ciaran, died in a tragic car accident in Mayo, Ireland, in July 2023.The crash occurred on the N5 at Ballymiles, notorious as an accident hotspot, while Ciaran was en route to his son's football game, sustaining fatal injuries.

His widow, Annmarie, could not attend his funeral due to injuries from the same accident.The driver involved in the crash, Dean Harte, faced charges of careless driving causing death and serious injury to which he pleaded guilty.

Nevertheless, Judge Eoin Garavan handed Harte a suspended 17-month prison term and a two-year driving ban, reports the Mirror.An exasperated Ronan stated on social media: "Today's sentencing was a devastating example of just how broken our justice system is.
