A dad who travelled from the Midlands to Manchester to help a pimp regain control of a sex worker has been jailed for trafficking.
Ion Raducan, 35, arranged a car and travelled from one city to another in order to pick up the woman, who has been ‘controlled’ by pimps her whole life.
He has now been jailed for trafficking after admitting his involvement in the pick up – which happened in the Strangeways area of Manchester.
A Recorder told the father-of-four that he must have known the woman at the centre of the offence was a sex worker and therefore vulnerable. “She was treated, not as an autonomous human being, but as a commodity to be fought over by various individuals,” Recorder Alexander Leach QC said.
