The presenter, 27, and his fellow Capital Breakfast hosts Sonny Jay, 27, and Sian Welby, 33, came off air mid-way through the show on Tuesday after being told that a friend they had all worked with had died.
A Capital spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that Rob Howard and Lauren Layfield will host Capital Breakfast for the rest of this week.’The trio have been granted leave by station executives in light of the tragic news, with Rob, 31, and Lauren, 32, taking over in their absence.Listeners had noticed that Tuesday’s show was cut short after an interview with Little Mix, with the presenters leaving after being told the news.
