THE ROLLING STONES sure proved they still know how to party as they threw a birthday bash for Ronnie Wood in Madrid. The guitarist turned 75 the day the rockers were back on stage in the Spanish capital.

The Rolling Stones had a huge surprise in store for fans during their Madrid concert on Wednesday. 

No Filter tour in 2017 in Germany and played 16 US dates in 2019 but their North American leg was put on hold for 16 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.They resumed the tour in September of last year. “We are thrilled to be able to announce the rescheduled dates for the Rolling Stones 2020 US tour, which will now go ahead this Fall!” the band said in July 2021.

Ronnie Wood celebrated his 75th birthday with The Rolling Stones as they opened their 60th anniversary tour in Madrid, Spain. As well as his milestone birthday, the rock band’s guitarist was also marking 47 years since he joined the group as they took to the stage on Wednesday evening at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

"It’s a huge loss to us all."It’s very, very hard," he told Rolling Stone magazine.The band's guitarist Keith Richards also paid tribute to his friend, commending his "incredible" sense of humour.The songwriter told how he "loved to crack [Charlie] up", adding that it could be "painful" with the drummer after his sense of humour had been "sparked".Following Charlie's death, Steve Jordan has stepped in to play the drums on the band's upcoming tour, with Mick branding the move a "respectful" one.Charlie died weeks after revealing that he would not be touring with the band due to ill health.The British rock band was formed in 1962 and was originally composed of Mick, Charlie, Keith Richards, Brian Jones and Dick Taylor, with Ronnie Wood not joining the group until 1975.

This summer marks a full 60 years since the foundation of the iconic rock band, and the Stones are celebrating with two massive gigs in London’s Hyde Park. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will return to the Great Oak Stage for British Summer Time in Hyde Park this summer for not one, but two dates.
