Rolling Stones legend’s wife leaves £18million in will for family and staff

The Rolling Stones’ late drummer Charlie Watts’ widow Shirley has left a staggering amount of money in her will for her family and staff.Shirley Watts died last December at the age of 82.

She passed away after a short illness just 16 months after her beloved rocker husband. Charlie died in August 2021 at the age of 80 after complications with emergency heart surgery, following a successful battle with cancer.

Shirley’s will was published on December 18, reports Express.co.uk, and the estimated estate value of £18.3million was left in trust to her close family, with named beneficiaries being her daughter Seraphina, granddaughter Charlotte and brother Stephen Shepherd.Seraphina also inherits her mum and dad’s mansion in France and two staff members of Shirley’s will also benefit from her will.

The employees are set to get a tax-free payment which will work out as the same as each of their salaries, according to The Sun.Last year Shirley’s family released a statement following her death, saying she was “reunited with her beloved Charlie.”They went on: "It is with great sadness that Seraphina, Charlotte and Barry announce the death of their much-loved mother, grandmother and mother-in-law Shirley Watts."Shirley died peacefully on Friday 16th December in Devon after a short illness surrounded by her family."She will be also sadly missed by her sisters Jackie and Jill, and her brother Stephen.
