Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood says 'inner voice' saved him from drug death

Ronnie Wood says he has an inner voice which saved him from overdosing on his many drug binges. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie, 73, has endured drug and drink-fuelled tours with rock bands and stars for more than five decades.

But while many of his peers have succumbed to excess, Wood says something inside stopped him from killing 
himself. Reflecting on the “lifestyle associated with the late 70s and 80s”, he said: “Luckily I had a valve that cut off, if it was going to be too much in my body, that said, ‘No don’t go over, don’t cross this line otherwise you will not make it’.”The Londoner has boasted of his wild sessions on cocaine, heroin and booze, and won a battle with lung cancer caused by his cigarette habit.
