A Rolex watch worth £70,000 was seized from an alleged drug dealer before he was set to board a flight to Dubai, a jury heard.
Asim Tufail, 52, is accused of a series of drugs and firearms offences. He was arrested in the departure lounge at Manchester Airport, where he had been due to board a flight to Dubai.
Prosecutors allege that Mr Tufail is involved in drug dealing and money laundering. He denies all the charges. Jurors at Minshull Street Crown Court have heard that Mr Tufail, from Northenden, was arrested in the terminal one departure lounge on January 18, 2021. It was later examined by an auctioneer, who said the retail price of the watch was £70,000, while estimating it could fetch about £40,000 at auction, the court heard.
