Pep Guardiola is expecting to be without Rodri for the rest of the season after the midfielder underwent surgery on his knee ligament injury.
Rodri was forced off just 20 minutes into the Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday after landing awkwardly on his right knee when contesting a corner with Thomas Partey.
The Spaniard instantly knew it was something serious, although the extent of the injury was not clear for most of the week with conflicting medical reports.
City did hold hope that it may not be as bad as it could be but were resigned to the worst, and accepted Rodri's wish for surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament that will put him out for nine months and see him out until the 2025/26 campaign.
