Roddy Ricch has been named in a new copyright lawsuit over his hit 2019 single The Box along with his producer 30 Roc and label Atlantic Records.The 24-year-old rapper - who faced legal troubles earlier this year - and the related parties have been sued by musical artist Greg Perry, according to TMZ, which reviewed court docs in the case.Perry told the court that the Compton, California native and his collaborators used elements of his 1975 track Come On Down (Get Your Head Out Of The Clouds).

The rapper was snapped last year in Houston In legal papers, Perry said that an expert in music analyzed the two tracks and said that it was 'clearly and convincingly' evident that the songs both have comparable melodies, forms and structures.Perry is requesting the court determine that Ricch and his associates infringed upon his copyright, and award him related damages, the outlet reported.
Ricch released the single on December 6, 2019, from his album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.The Box was a huge hit commercially, staying atop the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for 11 weeks, and being a staple in TikTok clips.
