The Scots rocker was scheduled to stand trial in America alongside his son Sean after they were accused of attacking a security guard at a luxury hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.
The incident was alleged to have happened on New Year's Eve 2019, with the 76-year-old accused of punching Jessie Dixon in the ribs.
However, court records show that the singer and prosecutors are reaching a deal over the allegations.Rod and Sean allegedly got into a scuffle with Mr Dixon after being denied access to a private party in a children's area.Sean allegedly got "nose to nose" with Mr Dixon.
Both men denied a charge of simple battery. A trial date had been set for September 14. However court records show Sir Rod's lawyers have reached a settlement agreement.
