Rod Stewart and his son Sean’s assault case in Florida ‘still [has] some work to be done’, a court has heard.The music icon allegedly punched security guard Jesse Dixon in the ribs at a the Breakers Palm Beach Hotel in a dispute over entry into a private party on New Year’s Eve 2019.Sir Rod, 75, and Sean, 40, have both pleaded not guilty to a charge of simple battery.At last Friday’s Zoom hearing – which did not include Sir Rod or Sean – defence lawyer Guy Fronstin said there is ‘still some work to be done on the cases’.The defence team is still trying to locate a video in relation to the case, he added.Judge August Bonavita set another trial hearing for October 23.Mr Dixon alleges they were part of a group attempting to get into a private.
