Rock and roll legend Little Richard has passed away, aged 87. His death was confirmed earlier today by his son Danny Penniman to Rolling Stone magazine.
The details surrounding his death are not yet known. Little Richard first shot to fame with his hit Tutti Frutti in the 1950s and became well-known for his trademark screams, costumes and dance moves.
He had a huge amount of success throughout his career, with hits including Rip It Up, Long Tally Sally, Good Golly Miss Molly and Lucille.
Little Richard was one of the most influential artists of the early Rock and Roll era and his hits have been covered a number of times by other artists, including Elvis Costello and the Everly Brothers.
