ROCK SOUND is fancied to keep Hollie Doyle on a high with a win in the Bombardier British Hopped Amber Beer Handicap (2.15) at Southwell.
Whatever holds the George Boughey trainee back, it’s unlikely to be a lack of confidence on the part of the jockey - Doyle rode the winners of five consecutive races at Kempton Park last night.
Doyle teams up with the six-year-old son of Lope De Vega for the first time after apprentice Mark Crehan steered Rock Sound to a length-and-a-quarter margin from Zylan over Southwell’s six furlongs a week ago.
Rock Sound, who scored over today’s seven-furlong distance at the start of his career has a 5lb penalty to shoulder - but can make light of the additional burden.
