Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

manchestereveningnews.co.ukRochdale MP Tony Lloyd has been released from intensive care after being treated for Covid-19. Mr Lloyd, who was appointed as the Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary in March, was admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary.
He has been receiving treatment since April 6, the day after Boris Johnson. Councillor Faisal Rana tweeted a message from Mr Lloyd thanking people for their support.
The message said: "I have now been moved out of ICU. "It certainly is a tough condition and it has no doubt left me literally gasping for air. "But I am happy to say that I am, and continue to be, on the mend." Several Labour politicians have responded to pass on further messages of support to the 70-year-old MP.
