We’re thrilled with the new date, and very happy the film will be available to audiences in IMAX.”The change in schedule stems from the Michael Jackson biopic Michael being delayed from the April 18 slot to October 3, which was announced earlier this week. The first full trailer for Mickey 17 arrived in September, and offered a look at various clones of Robert Pattinson’s Mickey dying during an expedition to explore an ice planet.
The film also stars Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Holliday Grainger and more.Mickey 17 will mark Joon-ho’s first film effort since 2019’s universally lauded Parasite, which took home Best Picture at the Academy Awards the following year.
Parasite also went on to become the highest-grossing Korean film in history. The film – based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 – was first announced in 2022, with a short teaser being released that same year.
