Robert Pattinson is surprised people are still criticising Twilight almost 20 years after the first film came out.The actor shot to fame as vampire Edward Cullen in the five-film franchise, based on Stephenie Meyer’s successful YA novel series, making him a teen heartthrob in the process.
Pattinson’s notoriety was boosted by his romantic relationship with his co-star Kirsten Stewart – who portrayed Bella Swan – who he dated between 2009 and 2012.
They then reconciled but broke up again in 2013.The franchise was enormously successful at the box office but polarised both critics and fans.
