The Scottish actor also played two different characters in Coronation Street 46 years apart. He had a role as an extra in 1966 then returned to the soap as school crossing patrol officer Malcolm Lagg in 2012.
Fyfe was seen in the ITV soap training Dennis Tanner, played by Philip Lowrie, with a view of taking over his job. The actor, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, portrayed the shy and downtrodden husband of battleaxe Pearl Sibshaw in Last of the Summer Wine from 1985 until the beloved sitcom's cancellation in 2010.
