Robert De Niro's grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez's cause of death has been revealed. The 19-year-old sadly passed away earlier this week and his mother, Drena De Niro, 51, confirmed the news on Instagram as she said goodbye to her 'beautiful sweet angel'.
Drena, the daughter of Hollywood actor Robert and actress Diahnne Abbott, has now broken her silence on further details. While it's not been confirmed by a toxicology report, Leandro's mum claimed her son took pills laced with fentanyl.
She wrote on Instagram: "Someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him." "So for all these people still f***ing around selling and buying this s***, my son is gone forever." The heartbreaking news of the 19-year-old's passing came as a shock to the family, who were quick to pay tribute to Leandro.
Drena said: "My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. "You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you I'm so sorry my baby, I'm so sorry @carlosmare.
