Rob McElhenney rang in the New Year on his social media by sharing a shocking photo of a 2023 lowlight - a severe allergic reaction to nuts. The Hollywood actor and joint owner of Wrexham football club accompanied it with a cheery caption, writing: "Aside from that slight allergic reaction to the nuts, 2023 was one of the best years of my life. "Thank you to the people and places that made it possible.
My life is full of love and joy because of you. So excited for 2024. I’ll stay away from the nuts." Prior to buying Wrexham AFC in November 2020 with celebrity friend Ryan Reynolds, the 46-year-old actor was best known for his role in ER and as co-creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Rob's grim photo showed the right side of his face swollen to double its normal size, forcing his eye to fully close and his lips to swell. The Office and ER actress Mindy Kaling was one of the first people to comment on the gruesome image, writing: "Rob this made me almost drop my phone.
My son screamed". The transformation was so severe some fans also questioned whether it was real, or the work of a clever special-effects makeup artist.
