In the days leading up to his tragic passing, Rugby League legend Rob Burrow "came back from the dead", his wife Lindsey has shared.The sporting hero sadly passed away on June 2, 2024, at just 41 years old, after a nearly five-year battle with motor neurone disease.Throughout his illness, Rob worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funds for MND charities and research, amassing over £20million.
His diagnosis came only two years after he retired from an illustrious 17-year rugby career, during which he played for Leeds Rhinos and won eight Super League titles.The nation was left heartbroken when news of his death broke, with heartfelt tributes pouring in from loved ones, friends and devoted fans.
However, just days before his death, on May 30, Rob's heart stopped beating, leading doctors to advise the family to say their goodbyes.
But, true to his fighting spirit, Rob made a brief but miraculous recovery, giving his family some more cherished moments, reports the Mirror.
